toreap asked: Crendor, who's your favorite philosopher, and why? Which philosopher do you hate the most, and what did he ever do to you to deserve your wrath?

I don’t actually know many philosophers aside from the old Asian and Greek philosophers, which are all good. I mainly just like reading about it, or discussing topics on message boards, whether about religion, science, morals, etc. The hardest thing for most people to do is let go of their beliefs and openly consider other beliefs while comparing and contrasting the two. Letting go of your beliefs doesn’t mean giving them up, but just imagining you are a blank slate for that moment. It’s hard because people become emotionally attached to all their beliefs, so when one of them is questioned, they feel it as a personal attack on themselves.

Looking at places where ego’s shine is terrible for intelligent debates since you’ll have both sides just yelling at each-other out of pure emotion and no logic. *Example: Youtube comments about all the previous topics I mentioned* One of the biggest conversations being about religion.

I’ve talked to very smart religious people, as well as very smart non-religious people, and both make great arguments for their sides, but going to Youtube or other big congregation sites for this type of discussion is like going to the League of Legends pre-game lobby for life advice.
